Pastors are unnoticed Heroes

Are Pastors just puny humans or are we actually unnoticed heroes? Some of us wake at the crack of dawn, give our first fruit of time to the Lord, bless our children, prepare for our day, and remain constant in this the grand majority of our lives. Throughout a common day, we put out fires, advise the uncertain, and inspire others to keep faith. We listen, we wait our turn, we encourage, and at times are never acknowledged for the small unnoticed details of our stewardship. We joyfully concur with what our Lord said in Luke 17.10 ESV, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.’

Pastors are human! We invest a great amount of effort in people, time, and dreams to sometimes see results that don’t match our prayer or training. Some of us push through it and eventually see results, but there are many who settle with the lack of success and slowly let off the throttle.

One reason for this is the labor of ministry is not for staff alone but each believer within the body. The solution to this situation is complicated since some believers are content with a Sunday experience and no commitment throughout the week.

The majority of growth for a believer is always produced from their personal connection to the Lord by means of heartfelt prayer and dedicated Bible reading. This is an essential part of a Christian’s maturity but the forgotten detail is serving the church and the community. If a small percentage of our church body was serving the community and church in accord with a Pastor’s heart, their growth would be substantial. At the same time, the growth of the actual church would also be ginormous.

This is our vision for churches throughout our city. Our mission is to equip the believers in your ministry to reach the non-churched, consolidate their connection to the Lord and church body, to mentor and disciple them, and to keep this process recurring. This undertaking requires an adequate vision and mission from each ministry to reach the unchurched and inspire growth and multiplication within your ministry leaders and new believers. Our churches can be run by a pastor and a staff, but imagine the impact if we equip and send out our leaders. The laborers are few, but let us train and equip more of them together!
